The Tamang Society of Canada has extended heartfelt humanitarian support to the bereaved family of the late Mr. Sanjay Waiba (Sanjay Gurung), who tragically passed away on February 20, 2026, while employed in Grand Manan, New Brunswick, Canada.
Originally from Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality–Ward No. 2, Gorkha, Nepal, Mr. Waiba arrived in Canada in September 2025 with dreams of building a brighter future for his family. Like many Nepali migrant workers and newcomers, he carried aspirations of creating better opportunities for his loved ones through hard work and dedication. His sudden and untimely passing has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of his family members and loved ones.
Mr. Waiba is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bhagawati Gurung Thapa, and their two young daughters, aged 14 and 7 years, who are now facing immense emotional hardship along with significant financial challenges. The tragic loss of the family’s primary provider has created a difficult situation that requires immediate community support and compassion.
Upon learning about the family’s critical circumstances, the Tamang Society of Canada responded with compassion and solidarity by providing cash assistance as well as essential daily necessities to help ease the burden faced by the grieving family. The organization remains committed to supporting community members during times of crisis and standing alongside families affected by unexpected tragedies.
Speaking on the importance of community unity, representatives of the Tamang Society of Canada emphasized that supporting vulnerable families during difficult times reflects the collective values of compassion, responsibility, and mutual care that strengthen our community.
The Tamang Society of Canada also humbly appeals to all kind-hearted individuals, community organizations, and members of the Nepali diaspora to come forward and extend any possible assistance to the affected family. Every contribution, regardless of size, can make a meaningful difference in helping Mrs. Bhagawati Gurung Thapa and her daughters navigate this challenging period.
Those willing to provide support are kindly requested to contact the Tamang Society of Canada, which will coordinate and ensure that all contributions are properly delivered to the family in need.
